BTAS: Day Of The Samurai

So I really like the Batman Animated Series Scores, by Shirley Walker and her team. Each episode had its own original score, and wile most early 90's cartoons were using cheap electronic synth scores, Batman had very classy orchestrated scores. So a few episode scores were released as promos, im gonna post all the ones I got starting with "Day Of The Samurai" by Carlos Rodriguez, this is my favorite becouse it mixes the classical style with ethnic asian elements. Also im gonna be posting the complete "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" score pretty soon aswell.

The Crow (Expanded)

The Crow by Graeme Revell, iv been meaning to post this for some time, I finally got around to it. Graeme Revell is one of those composers you eather like or you don't, many of his scores are very atmospheric (Dead Calm) but I like his scores and think they add alot to the film. I really like The Crow (score and movie) it has a very industrial sound that mixes gothic and ethnic elements. This is a 2 disc expanded version. The first disc contains the commercaly avalable tracks, disc 2 contains the other unreleased tracks.

Catwoman

What can I say about the Catwoman score, its one of my favorites there are many that will agree and disagree with me but I really like it. After downloading the horrible dvd rip with sfx, I fell in love with the score but longed for a decent version with no sfx, and finally about a year or so later someone finnaly got ahold of the entire score. I was very happy becouse this score would have never been released commercially. One of the main reasons many people dont like Klaus Badelt's score I believe is becouse of the use of R&B/Pop motifs, however I think it makes for a very unique modern score, I also like the vocal elements he used in many of the tracks. So here it is enjoy.

Secret Window

Philip Glass and Geoff Zanelli, both scored "Secret Window", half the score was composed by Glass and the other half by Zanelli. This is a very dark and atmospheric score, and went very well with the tone of the movie. Also if you ever have a chance to see the movie you should, I thought it was pretty good.

The Little Mermaid
